My lovely sister wanted something unique and special for my birthday, an experience of food the whole family could enjoy (my wife and I have an 11, 12, and 14 yr old). I enjoy food, our parents are great cooks; over the years, I have grown disillusioned with most restaurants - because prices keep going up, food and service is rarely memorable, and we can make great stuff at home. She hit the perfect mark. We did the Initiation sampler x 5 adults, and the kids ordered the garlic noodles, Asian ribs, and Wagyu dumplings. We added bluefin toro, salmon, and yellowtail maki rolls, and the Wagyu fried rice. All amazing! The sampler came out with an incredible chef’s selection (and display) of sushi. A combo of skirt steak with garlic noodles was a second improvised course (the skirt steak was better than most places do actual steak!), followed by flame-kissed BBQ veggies and skewers (beef, chicken, pork belly). We finished with the ultra-luxe Ube Chocolate cake. Sooooo incredibly good! Admittedly, I may have over-ordered (a common occurrence!). Unique dishes, excellent execution. Recognition to wait/service staff Macaela and crew tonight. Extra special shout out and thanks to Chef Kam Som, who really made this a special experience. We will be back - and can’t wait to come on a weekend night with the turntables spinning!

Absolutely loved Kuza! The sushi was delicious, and the crispy rice has officially earned the spot as my second favorite in all of Arizona! The atmosphere was upbeat, energetic, and so much fun! The DJ was incredible, and our waitress, Samantha, made the experience even better with her fantastic service. We will definitely be back and absolutely requesting Samantha’s section again!

1st visit to this new restaurant. Great atmosphere & vibe. Friendly staff. We were seated promptly at a great table, and our server, Samantha, greeted us immediately. She introduced herself and took our drink order. Cocktails were good. Samantha let us enjoy a toast and came back and went over the menu and options with us. Fresh fish flown in daily got our attention. She answered all our questions. We followed Samantha’s recommendations and wow! They were spot on! All of the sushi tasted very fresh. Many options. Great presentation. We will definitely go back and for certain ask for Samantha. She knows the food & cocktail menus very well and she was prompt, fun & made us feel special. Kudos to Kuza!!!

We thought the food here was SO good. We liked everything we had - the Kuza roll was probably the best sushi roll we’ve had in the valley.

Gabby was our server and she was amazingly attentive and helpful with guiding us through the menu. She was constantly refilling our water and checking in on us to see how every dish was tasting. Leigh who is one of the managers also checked in on our table and gave us a breakdown of the cocktail list with her personal favorites. Overall an amazing experience and I will definitely be coming in for a mother visit!

Love Kuza! Great food, cocktails and ambience!

Had a special event here. The service, food, and environment were phenomenal. The beef skewer was melt in your mouth!! The jade mist mocktail was a favorite of mine. Cannot want to come back. I unfortunately don’t have our servers name but everyone working from the bar to the kitchen was outstanding!

Came for a pregame dinner to our anniversary date night and had the best experience. Samantha was awesome and gave very good reccos.

It was my first visit to Kuza. It was simply amazing. The restaurant was full and all a buzz with other diners, apparently enjoying similar dining experiences as I. My server, Hanna was vibrant to say the least. Beautiful, enthusiastic, and so very charming. Her guidance through the food and bar menus was very informative and fun. I ended up enjoying three very delicious entrées and craft cocktails. Hanna was fun and engaging company throughout my visit. I am so looking forward to my next visit.

Service and atmosphere was excellent. Appetizer (tuna nigiri) was amazing, but the Wagyu Fried Rice was not great. Overcooked and wayyyy too much soy sauce (at least thats what it tasted like). Kinda unfortunate for a dish that expensive. Also wish they served hot sake instead of just chilled... but that's just a personal preference obviously lol

We were so impressed with the restaurant especially for only being open for two weeks the operations were impressive. The food and quality was very good, our service was absolutely amazing Julissa our server was awesome. The only reason for 4 stars is the music is a bit too loud. Good music, just about 40% too loud.

Had such a great experience at Kuza! The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was incredible, and the whole place has such a fun, welcoming vibe. Samantha was amazing and really made the experience stand out with her friendly and attentive service. You can tell there’s a lot of thought and passion behind the restaurant. Between the great food, amazing atmosphere, and excellent service, Kuza is definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in Scottsdale!

Samantha was excellent, every server hit our table and all of the food was perfection. It was a little loud so we chose to sit outside. It was beautiful and the portions are smaller but just the right size to be able to order multiple things you want to try. It was delicious

Our wonderful server Samantha made the night so incredible. The food was amazing and I particularly loved the crab noodles. They were the best noodles I think I’ve ever had and I’ve been all over Asia.It’s hard to believe how recently Kuza opened and everything was flawless. We will definitely be back. Gabe was the best!!! He was not only super friendly, but offered amazing recommendations. The drinks were so delicious…especially the margarita…and the food was great! We ordered robata, sushi and tried the apps, both hot and cold…PERFECT! We can’t pick just one item, so try a little of everything and try to sit with Gabe if you can for a solid experience! We’ll definitely be back!

My group loved Kuza! The salmon was amazing, and my one regret in life is inhaling it rather than savoring it. Others at my table mentioned that they expected the Garlic Noodles to be a bigger portion, but it was the perfect amount for me and paved the way to my heart. There were only four Pork Dumplings, but that just means there are four more things to add to my Christmas list, as they made every bite worth it. I also got the Matcha Nameraka. My friend found herself unable to finish it because the matcha had a lemony taste to it, making it more sour than she expected. On the other hand, I found the matcha pudding and salted caramel cream on top worked very well together. Other reviews have mentioned the music, and while it did catch me by surprise at first, it works with the lighting and decor to create a high-energy yet intimate atmosphere. Our server was great, checked in with us when needed, and made our experience pleasant. Like I’d recommend before trying any restaurant that’s new to you, do your research. Look at the menu ahead of time so you’re aware of the prices, and check reviews or social media to get an idea of the portion sizes. If you try this place, I hope you leave how I did—already planning your order for next time.

Fantastic service

Overall pretty good however, feel like I’m going to need to go home and take a shower because of the lack of venting on the robato grill - too Smokey! The sushi was outstanding though! Thanks for a good nite!

KUZA was absolutely amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious, the Spanish Grilled Octopus, barbecue pork ribs, salmon hand rolls, Dark Chocolate Cake with ube whipped cream, and the lychee cocktail were all so good. But the octopus was SPECTACULAR. Easily one of the best octopus dishes I’ve ever had. The flavor, seasoning, and tenderness were just incredible. Everything was amazing, but seriously. GET THE OCTOPUS. You will not regret it! KUZA is definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for a great dining experience. ✨

Went there with friends last Saturday. The Vibe was great. We sat at the bar for a drink before our table was ready. Great cocktails from Giavana.(I only want her to mix my drinks) lol Then was sat. Food was very good. Lot’s of shared items. Service was awesome as well. Gabrielle and a busser were at our table before we even knew we needed something. I live right behind the place so hopefully this will be my new go to hangout.

Kuza was such an incredible vibe! We had no idea the restaurant had just opened last week. The staff, especially our server Hanna, were so knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to our needs as guests. Hanna frequently checked in and had so many great recommendations. The music, atmosphere, food presentation and overall aesthetic was absolutely perfect. We couldn’t ask for a cooler new date night spot!

Absolutely loved this place! We went last night and were so pleasantly surprised to hear about all of their gluten-free options. Even their standard soy sauce is tamari, which was such a nice surprise! From the moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. Our server, Steven, was absolutely phenomenal. We also had a chance to speak with the manager, also Steven 😊, and complimented him on how smoothly everything was running, especially considering they have officially only been open for two days! The food was the star. The flavors were absolutely amazing, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was top notch. The drinks were okay, but honestly, everything else more than made up for it. For a restaurant that has only been open a couple of days, they really impressed us. We will definitely be back!

I visited Kuza during opening week and genuinely enjoyed every minute of the experience! From the moment I walked in, the hospitality stood out. The hostess team gave me such a warm welcome, and Avery brought me to my seat—she was incredibly cheerful and sweet. I sat at the bar, where Spencer immediately welcomed me, brought over water, and helped get me started with a drink. I ordered the Rising Sun mocktail, which was light, refreshing, and citrusy. For food, I started with the Thai Crispy Chicken, which would be perfect to share as a couple or with a group. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice was absolutely delicious and easily one of my favorites—I highly recommend it. The Robata Skirt Steak was incredible and packed with flavor. Chef Eric also brought out a delicious amuse-bouche with beautiful citrus and floral notes. I wish I could tell you exactly what it was, but all I know is that it was amazing! I also tried the Prawn Roll, which was light and delicious, along with my second mocktail, the Jade Mist. Definitely order this one—it was so good! What really made the experience stand out was the team. Everyone was attentive without being overbearing and genuinely seemed to care that I was having a great time. Michael and Steven both stopped by to check on me, which made the experience feel even more special. Cali was also an absolute delight and so cheerful. I’ll definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu because everything I’ve tried so far has been fantastic. I’d recommend Kuza for a nice night at the bar, a fun date night, or an evening out with friends. The atmosphere is lively and fun, and the DJ playing great music was the perfect finishing touch. Such a great addition to the restaurant scene, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

I went to Kuza on the second day they were open. The atmosphere is vibrant and loud with live music from a DJ. It's more upscale with a dress code (similar to their sister restaurant next door -The Americano). I sat at the sushi bar which had a busy view directly into the kitchen. Macaela D was my server - she was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She gave some great recommendations. I went with the Matriarch tasting menu along with some spicy tuna on crispy rice. The tasting offered a variety of raw bites (sashimi, nigiri, a5 wagyu tartare, & oysters) along with robata skewers (shrimp, tsukone chicken, skirt steak & asparagus), a bowl of garlic crab noodles & a dessert choice (I went with sudachi lime tart option). Overall this is a great place to take a date (knowing it's a louder atmosphere and you'll need a reservation booked in advance).

so many restaurants now a days give such poor service despite spending an arm and a leg…Kuza is NOT one of them. We experienced exceptional service from the bartenders who were incredibly attentive, quick to clear empty food plates or drinks and always asked if we needed anything else. The octopus was to DIE for. We aren’t huge octopus fans but it came highly recommended and I STRONGLY suggest you give it a try. Did not disappoint. Had a Smokey yet citrus forward flavor and the perfect consistency. We had the pork belly skewers which were phenomenal! Melts in your mouth and has a Smokey pineapple flavor. The edamame and shishitos were bright and flavorful. Probably some of the best shishitos I’ve had in town. I do feel the edamame beans were a bit smaller than I’m used to though. Tuna tataki was one of my favorites as well. The crispy rice was pan seared to perfection and the tuna mixture on top gave just the right amount of heat. Loved the salad we had which had the most beautiful plating I’ve seen. And lastly the Ube chocolate dessert was shockingly light. I honestly didn’t think I was going to have room for it, but after the first bite I knew I could do it. Rich dark chocolate complimented by ube frosting.

Honestly. I didn’t expect much, it’s hard with a brand new restaurant. These guys guys killed it! Lilla was our waitress and she was amazing! She actually helped us with our orders and totally nailed it!

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the food as much as I did, especially after reading some not-so-great reviews. But everything we ordered was SO good! The fish was incredibly fresh and literally melted in your mouth, and the hot dishes were superb—we ate every bite. The cocktails were really good too, and I’m genuinely excited to finally have a cool, vibey sushi spot north of us. It’s nice to have another option outside of Old Town, which has been feeling pretty scary these days. Definitely exceeded my expectations!

Food was very well prepared, great taste, temperature and presentation. The portion was not substantial compared to the cost. Room for opportunity on the portion relative to the price. Atmosphere is great, good vibe, constant attention to drinks.we were cared for by Gabriela, great service. Smoke from the grill a bit much for the location and really hot seating area.

We went during their opening weekend to celebrate my dad’s birthday and had a great experience. Everything came out quickly, the drinks were good, and the food was great. The service was excellent, especially our waitress Madeline, who was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. We tried the Taiwanese fried chicken, Kuza sushi roll, sashimi platter, lamb chops, and the ube chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was really good, but the ube chocolate cake was definitely a standout. Great food, great service, and a really fun experience for their opening weekend. We’ll definitely be back!

Brand new restaurant in N. Scottsdale. We came in on day 3 of their opening. I have to say we were impressed with their operation and friendly customer service. There were hardly any hiccups that you would expect from a newly opened restaurant. We were greeted by friendly hostesses and immediately brought to our table. Shout out to our waitress, Madeline, who took good care of us. The vibe - very energetic and vibrant with a live DJ. As for the food, 2 dishes stood out for us; the Iberico Pork Dumplings and the Skirt Steak. Both dishes were very flavorful and steak was very tender. Some of the other dishes we tried were the Hamachi Crudo, Grilled Prawns & Chicken, Hamachi roll, and Otoro roll. They were all good. For desserts, I loved their Chocolate Ube cake! It was so moist and the combo was Ube was genius! We also tried the Match pudding which definitely has more complex flavors; sweet, tart, salty and creamy. It was just a tad too creamy and tart for my taste but the hubby loved it.

Food was great, and the cocktails were very unique. The bar team took good care of me and they anticipated my needs and were friendly and easy to talk to. They had a DJ playing and the music was a vibe, and at a great noise level so I could hear and converse with my friend and the bartenders. Looking forward to going back and trying more food!

This place is so cool!! The service was absolutely fantastic- everyone here is so friendly! Hamachi was my favorite- ube cake was the best dessert I’ve ever tried. My fiance loved the Mezcal cocktail, and the raw bar is a huge hit!! So so good all around, can’t wait to be back!

We came on opening day. A lot of the appetizers were really good, and the salmon was exceptional. Scallops were just OK; the ube dessert was fantastic. A live DJ was playing, but the music was a bit loud for easy conversation. Since it was day one, we hoped for a warmer welcome or more of a special-night feel, and that wasn’t really there. Still, overall it’s a solid new spot among Scottsdale’s restaurants.
